Young people across South Bristol have already been heavily involved in the plans for 224. This is a Youth Zone for them, and by them.
Young people are at the heart of this, and therefore must play a pivotal role in the decision- making.
Nothing is preset, or mandatory – the activities, the programme, the facilities onsite are all shaped by what young people want, to make sure its relevant for the area.
Our Young People’s Development Group developed the branding, design and the shortlist of names for the new Youth Zone before organizing a city-wide vote, which saw over 4,200 young people vote on the new name.
As the project progresses, the Young People’s Development Group will continue to consult with young people across South Bristol and contribute towards decision- making on other areas such as interior design, and staffing.
Get involved
- Go on trips including visits to open Youth Zones
- Support with fundraising for the Youth Zone
- Be involved in recruitment & involvement in interviewing staff/volunteers
- Represent 224 at community events
- Get creative, helping to choose the brand & interior visuals
- Collect the views of other young people
